Dairy Process review and validation available for dairy products. Fees charged for initial review, research, and on-site review.

SCHEDULED PROCESS / PROCESS REVIEW: Cornell’s Process Authority works with food manufacturers to validate products for safety and stability. The Scheduled Process is a document that can be submitted to regulatory agencies, such as state or federal inspectors, to support safe food processing practices and ensure minimal risk of microbial pathogenic growth.

Experienced full time staff professionals are able to assist you in all aspects of food product development and processing.

You can visit our facilities and work collaboratively with our personnel, or the staff of the FPDL can process your product to your specifications and ship it to you overnight. Customized pilot plant product runs can be conducted with our established access to ingredients and raw materials

We conduct Sensory Evaluation and Consumer Product Research.
Among the standard services that are offered to commercial clients are Consumer Acceptability, Preference and Discrimination Testing.
In addition, the program provides consultations in all matters related to sensory product testing: appropriateness of particular test method, study sample size, questionnaire design, statistics and analyses, sample blinding and serving sizes, to name a few.

The Submission Procedure:

  1. The Client Registration Form must be filled out for all new clients. Send this in with your submission form(s).

You may use this form at any time if you are a returning client and would like to update your information on file with us.

 

  1. For Scheduled Process requests:

1) Fill out the Scheduled Process Form

  • Fill out a form for each flavor/variety of a product. Every individual product requires a separate submission.
  • Indicate whether the product is a new product or an amendment to an existing product.
  • Indicate whether the product could be considered a “Version” of an existing product. (For example, a Mild Salsa is a version of a Hot Salsa).
  • List all ingredients by WEIGHT per batch size - ounces, grams or pounds ONLY.
  • Describe ingredients using column in table - fresh, frozen, dried, canned, bottled.

What Happens Next?

  1. Once the forms are received, they are analyzed upon arrival.
  2. Submissions will then go through the Initial Review with the Process Authority.
    1. If acceptable for validation, an invoice will be sent via email and the submission will be processed for final documentation.
    2. If unacceptable, a review will be sent via email with recommendations given the analysis and submission review.  If you receive recommendations, we are expecting feedback from you in order to move forward with your process review.   If we do not receive your feedback after three repeated communication attempts, you will receive an invoice sent via email for laboratory analysis and Initial Review costs only.

 

3) Once accepted, final documentation may take up to 4 weeks from when submission was received.

4)   Expedited services are available to shorten turnaround time to one week, for twice the regular service cost.

 

Pricing, Payment and Results:

In order to receive final documentation, payment ($500) must made first. Payment may be made online, over the phone or by check (options are listed on the invoice with how to make payment)


 

Once payment is received and Scheduled Process documentation is complete, it will be sent via email.

We recommend if you need a Scheduled Process that you get a Scheduled Process before moving forward with nutrition analysis.
